 imoderni is a unique company. We are an AGENT for eight of Italy’s finest modern furniture, object and textile manufacturers.
We work with the world’s most celebrated furniture designers and the foremost modern furniture dealers in North America.
We also manage a team of 15 Market Development representatives in the major North American markets who visit with Architects and Interior Design firms, Purchasing Agents and their clients to encourage specification and the purchase of our manufacturer’s products.
FOUNDERS:
Piera Rimoldi - Prior to the formation of imoderni, Piera was Managing Director of B&B Italia USA -- the largest and most successful upscale, modern Italian furniture manufacturer. Piera worked for B&B Italia for 23 years, the last 15 of which had been spent in the US.

The US market went from last to first in importance for B&B Italia (as an export territory) after Piera arrived in the US, in 1988.
Piera manages manufacturer partnerships, oversees customer service, existing dealer relationships and imoderni’s own business matters.
Neil Somerfield - Prior to the formation of imoderni, Neil had founded and was running an Internet consulting practice in New York. iBasecamp had begun life as a strategic consulting practice before the Internet gold rush. Neil adapted his principles and the basecamp methodology to the Internet for both large public companies and small, publicly financed start-ups. He had previously worked in the advertising and film business. For imoderni, Neil manages strategic issues, legal, marketing, and business development.

MANUFACTURERS SHOWROOM:
The imoderni showroom integrates the product designs of most of the top Italian furniture designers, into a series of fully dressed vignettes of modern designs for life. “It can be a daunting prospect to coordinate the different product design styles of, say, Piero Lissoni with Claudio Silvestrin and Jean Marie-Massaud” says Piera Rimoldi, co-founder of imoderni, “we have 10 vignettes, from each area of the home, including the garden, to show how this can be done. For me, the best compliment we get is when people visit the showroom and say that they wish they could live here!”
imoderni AS A RESOURCE:
As the manufacturers’ North American representative, the atmosphere in our space is one of product education and information, no pressure. We have a conference room, books, price lists, fabrics and finishes, etc., that dealers and architects/interior designers can use. Because we chose the Wynwood Arts District in Miami, and not the Design District, we enjoy far more space, our displays are open and we have the added benefit of a 5000 sq foot garden in which to show outdoor furniture.
We chose the manufacturers we represent with the following in mind:

That they should be among the top 2/3 Italian companies in their category for modern design, and quality of materials and manufacture

That we should be able to offer a complete collection, ... "if you sit on it (inside or out), eat from it, sleep on it, put your clothes in it, etc., etc., we've got at least one, it's modern, it's Italian and it's upscale in quality!" We represent for sale everything in our showroom, including doors, room dividers, storage systems, etc, ... everything that is, except our two black cats!
